Lukas co-founded CrowdFlower. He has worked as a Senior Scientist and Manager within the Ranking and Management Team at Powerset, Inc., a natural language search technology company later acquired by Microsoft, and also led the Search Relevance Team for Yahoo! Japan. He graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Computer Science. Lukas is also an expert-level Go player.
Chris co-founded CrowdFlower. He was previously a technical product manager at Powerset, Inc., a natural language search technology company later acquired by Microsoft. Chris has worked as a studio artist, computer scientist, and web engineer, and pours his diverse background into his role as Chief Technology Officer. He combines deep design insight with crisp, minimalist coding abilities that enables him to produce anything — soup-to-nuts applications — sometimes within minutes. Chris studied both art and computer science at Hope College.
Robin is currently Chief Operating Officer at CrowdFlower where he leads the company's go-to-market functions. Robin has spent the past two decades helping high growth companies launch and scale platforms and products into rapidly transforming markets. Prior to CrowdFlower, Robin was the Vice President & General Manager, Strategic Consumer Industries at Marketo where he launched and led the business unit selling to consumer digital marketing teams. Robin has also held leadership roles at Jive Software, Worksimple, Yahoo & Micromuse. Before venturing into the technology startup world Robin was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in London advising media, retail and telecoms clients on their market strategy. Robin holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Cambridge University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Stanford University. Outside of work Robin spends his time trying to keep up with his two young children and enjoying all that the Bay Area has to offer.
Cameron has over 20 years experience architecting & developing quality software systems. Most recently, he has become a passionate (some would say annoyingly so) proponent of data driven decision making and the big data technology ecosystem. Prior to CrowdFlower, Cameron led the engineering team for Hearst Publishing's data management platform and before that was VP Engineering at Tynt Multimedia prior to its acquisition by 33Across. When not at work Cameron fritters away small fortunes on expensive hobbies such as golf, scuba diving, flying, sailing, marriage and dog ownership.
Renette joined CrowdFlower with more than 16 years of global (Asia Pacific, Europe and the U.S.) experience in the software/high-tech industry specializing in helping startups grow and build marketing organizations from the ground up. She is passionate about highly targeted lead generation, working with sales teams to deliver revenue, disrupt markets and build brand awareness via messaging, positioning, PR, social media and tactical marketing campaigns. Renette is a self-proclaimed marketing geek, foodie, coffee snob, lover of fashion, and fitness fanatic.
Jack Shay is a product veteran. Prior to joining CrowdFlower, Jack spent more than five years managing consumer-driven products at OpenTable where he oversaw a host of efforts including data analytics, mobile development, and user-generated content as well as integration of e-commerce, subscription, and partnership products. Jack was previously a strategy consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton where he specialized in market entry and organizational design. He received his MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelors in Science from Georgetown University. Jack enjoys hunting for obscure wines and tending to a sustainably-grown reef aquarium.
Romeo brings over 13 years of experience in customer-facing leadership roles. Prior to joining CrowdFlower, Romeo developed world-class success and services teams at top SaaS players including GoodData and WebDAM, a Shutterstock company. Most recently as Head of Customer Success at WebDAM, Romeo built and was overall responsible for all aspects of the post-sales customer experience including onboarding, technical services, customer retention and technical support. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Economy and a minor in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. Last but not least, Romeo has been known to have an affinity for dapper wardrobe and trimmings including high quality denim, sport coats, colorful socks and pocket squares.
Sam is Vice President of Sales at CrowdFlower where he leads all Sales functions. Prior to CrowdFlower, Sam served in Sales functions for companies as diverse as Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), Deutsche Bank AG, Netbase, and Impermium. Before starting his career in business, Sam served as an Engineering and Gunnery Officer on a U.S. Navy Destroyer. Sam holds a Bachelor's Degree in English from Northwestern University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Duke University's J.B. Fuqua School of Business. Outside of work, Sam surfs, mountain bikes, volunteers, and coaches athletic teams for his three children.
